Quick Stop at the Sleeping Dinosaur View Deck in Mati, Davao Oriental

Our journey to Mati was a little bit challenging. We were routed to a small neighborhood in Tagum wherein the roads were narrow, bumpy, and muddy. Aside from that, we experienced a heavy rain along the way, making it difficult for me to see the road clearly as I was the one driving. It was quite a crazy adventure perhaps. That said, it felt good when we finally reached the Sleeping Dinosaur View Deck.

Located in Brgy. Dawan, the Sleeping Dinosaur is a known tourist attraction in Mati. Before reaching the city proper, you would definitely pass by this place. And as you nearly get to the view deck, just like any other tourist, you will surely not resist on stopping by.

Sleeping Dinosaur

Since we departed from Davao City, the Sleeping Dinosaur View Deck was our first stop. I actually have been hearing about this attraction in Mati way back years ago. But it is just now that I have been able to see it in person.

From the view deck, a very nice and calm view of an island shaped like a dinosaur sleeping soundly on its belly along Pujada Bay is seen. Hence, the name of the island. We did not really take too much of our time in this place, but I heard that you can actually go hiking in that island. As for us, we just took few snaps of photos and went on our journey again to reach the city proper because seriously, at this point, we were so hungry. Yet, look at us, still trying to give our best smile.

By the way, another possible stop before reaching the Sleeping Dinosaur View Deck is the Davao Oriental Arc where you can also stop by for a quick photo op.
