Bike Ride: A Quick Stopover at El Kabayo Coffee in Clark, Pampanga

For some reasons, bike rides and coffee just really make sense together. As someone who cycles as a hobby, it is like spending quality time with friends – stopping by along the way and exchanging stories over a good cup of coffee. At the same time, it is also a way for me to explore, try, and of course share with you some of the local coffee places I have been to.

At six o’clock in the morning, we went for a ride at Clark, Pampanga. What’s new, right? As always, Clark is my go-to destination for a bike ride. Anyway, we decided to just have a chill morning ride, not having too much of those uphill roads, and of course my only request was to stop by at El Kabayo for a cup of coffee before finally heading back home.

El Kabayo Coffee is housed in El Kabayo Horseback Riding, which is located along Gil Puyat Ave. corner Panday Pira Ave., Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga. According to what I have read, El Kabayo is a replica of an old western town that is taken out from an old American western movie.

I have been seeing this place since I was young whenever we go to Clark Picnic Grounds. It is just now that I was able to stop by. I honestly thought it was already closed and abandoned because it seems so quiet and I don’t see people. Well, maybe because horses live here. 😉

El Kabayo Coffee is a take-away window café. It is a perfect stop not only to cyclists, but also to anyone who wishes to quickly stop by and grab a cup of their much-needed daily dose of caffeine.

Coming from the Sacobia Bridge and all the way to Gil Puyat Avenue, we were able to reach El Kabayo Coffee at around 8:30 am. If you plan to go for a bike ride early in the morning and intend to stop by this coffee place, you might as well want to plan your route since it opens at 8:00 am.

Store Hours

Upon reaching El Kabayo, you will notice a mock-up telegraph office, bank, hotel, county jail, and so on. The vibe is even more perfect and complete with the addition of El Kabayo Coffee. Definitely, not just the café, but the whole place is worth your Instagram feed. It would make you feel like being transported in a western setting.

We ordered Iced Sheriff’s Special which is composed of espresso, condensed milk, and milk. Honestly, medyo nakakabitin siya for me. Perhaps it might be great if they would have a bigger size for it. Yet, I can say that their coffee is good. It’s not too sweet. You can still actually sense the bitter taste of coffee. Also, not on the menu, but they offer Affogato and fresh calamansi juice too.

What’s on El Kabayo Coffee’s menu?

Since I have mentioned El Kabayo Horseback Riding earlier, they offer fun activities too such as horseback riding, trail rides, and even riding lessons. So, if you happen to visit Clark, aside from El Kabayo Coffee, you might want to consider trying these activities as well. For more information, you may visit their website or Facebook Page.

Oh! Speaking of horses, I saw an equestrian along Clark Pader that day. In a shy manner, I waved at her. I was glad she waved back at me. 😊

Anyway, we did not stay any longer since there was no place for us to sit. Well, there’s one spot actually, but it’s too hot. The sun was facing towards the café. We left the place at around 8:45 am and I finally reached home 30 minutes after. Just in time to prepare for work.
